Job Description:

Helly Hansen (www.hellyhansen.com), a leading manufacturer of high-performance outdoor clothing, is seeking a Value Added Coordinator to work under the direction of the VAS Supervisor. The Value Added Coordinator will serve over one or more assigned warehouse functions; supporting the VA Senior Lead to ensure all VA production is resulting in the highest quality product for the customer. Coaching and mentoring assigned staff while working side by side. Auditing/QC processed cartons.  Lead second VA crew as increased production requires. Train, coach and participate in Value Added production and Audit/processing VA orders.

The Value Added Coordinator position is located at our Helly Hansen North American office in Sumner, WA. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the VA Senior Lead by quality checking the assigned staffs work throughout the day, auditing the VA processed cartons.
  • Mentor and guide VA assigned staff while working on the production line.
  • Train and provide lead work direction and guidance to assigned staff and prioritize work assignments. 
    Oversee and Lead second VA crew as needed. Train and provide lead work direction, guidance and prioritize work assignments.
  • Mentor and motivate assigned staff as a team and individually to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of staff and assign or re-assign them appropriate duties accordingly.
  • Communicate any product issues to the VA Supervisor.

Experience and Skills:

The successful candidate will have:

  • 2-3 years of responsible warehouse experience.
  • Experience with warehouse equipment; Order picker, forklift, pallet jack.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • The aability to complete and receive Equipment Operating Certification.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed during busier seasons.
  • Must be detail-oriented and focused in order to avoid errors.
  • Proven leadership, verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of effective inventory management, distribution practices and production planning.
  • Personal commitment to safety as #1 priority.

Physical demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50-pound cartons on a regular basis.
  • Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling objects up to 80 lbs. on a concrete floor.
  • Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally. Bending at the waist, kneeling and crouching. Climbing ladders to reach supplies and equipment.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and a variety of warehouse equipment.
